At this point in the Coronapacolypse, I’m going to assume the majority of us are working from home… For those of you who are new to the work at home game, I want to share a few things that have been helpful for me in the past 4 years of working from home (and yes, these totally apply to kids learning from home too!)
➡️ have a morning routine… even if it’s as short as getting up, brushing your teeth, changing from nighttime jammies to daytime jammies, and having a cup of coffee. Consistency matter so much right now for our mental health.
➡️ drink the stinkin’ water. And you can’t use “but I’ll have to pee a lot” as an excuse… you’re at home, go pee.
➡️make a “results” list… so write down 1-3 results you need to see complete at the end of the day. What needs to happen to get to that result?
➡️take breaks while working. You can really only focus on one thing for about 50 minutes MAX. Get up, go for a walk, get on YouTube and follow some stretches, move your body a little.
➡️remember that to do lists are never ending, be graceful with yourself. You don’t need to accomplish it all today. The only person with super high standards is yourself.
